Posting schedule

As promised, here's how I'm planning on posting during Countdown to Halloween:

October 1st-14th: Planned posts that I have been writing for weeks now will be posted about midnight PST everyday (this was planned due to how hectic it's going to get around here this time)

October 15th-31st: Posts will be posted everyday at random times. These posts will be more current and not planned. Expect current photos and surprises. ^w^

So... our original costume plans went down the drain due to money and time issues. We wanted to be Katey's gifts (think Dead Rising 2). This theme happened completely by accident due to Ian getting ahold of a copy of Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. We were both on a Dead Rising kick, so it was perfect. Ian was going to be Freedom Bear. I was going to be the blue bunny that you attach to the motor cycles. Evey was going to be Snowflake. All of these outfits were going to be kigurumi mods. D:

As backup costumes, we plan on being a magical family. Evey and I will be tasteful witches, and Ian is going to be a classy, modern wizard. The dress I plan on making or buying (seriously depending on our budget again) is going to double as the main outfit I plan on wearing to the Masquerade of the Macabre lolita photoshoot. The accessories will probably be changed up between Halloween and the photoshoot, unless I decide otherwise.

Party wise, I plan on keeping things a lot more casual, but still in the spirit of Spooky Season (not posting the exact details since some of the readers of this blog will be attending the get together I'm hosting! ;D ). The party I'm throwing is taking place either the 12th or the 13th of October.

With Halloween getting closer, have you got your costume planned, or are you more the spontaneous type? Post your thoughts below!

"Last Call"

(Spooky Season love for you all before October hits. It's crazy to think that Halloween is getting closer and closer... just like that six (maybe seven) foot "ninja" silently stalking you as you walk down the street. O.o! )

I'm not going to lie- this is pretty freaking awesome!

I wonder who the lucky people were that got to test this type of interaction out during the screenings.

The ending really just sends chills down my spine.

What do you think of this Choose Your Own Adventure type of horror movie? Would you participate as a caller? Leave your comments below!

I'm BACK!

(It's awkward when you go back to your other blog, and realize that the hiatus post that was supposed to be there wasn't... :/ )

I'm back on this site, and it feels great! I was updating my other personal blog for awhile (as it needed quite a bit of TLC).

I have decided that this blog will host any and all Halloween Countdown related posts. I thought about switching this whole blog right on over to Tumblr, where I do have a huge following, but thought that wouldn't be fair to my original Blogger buddies.

Don't you ghasts and ghouls feel loved? :P

Another thing I thought about was posting days for the Countdown this year. They only ask that the posts be kept frequent during the Countdown, but there are no official rules on posting. Ideally, I would post everyday, but with a new baby girl on the way and commissions keeping me busy, timing is tricky. I was thinking about switching posting up to every other day or just on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). I am doing this so you get heavy content posts worth reading. If I finally figure out a regular posting schedule, I will let you all know A.S.A.P.

Misgivings Day Weekend is almost here! If you don't already know, Misgivings Day kicks off what I call the Spooky Season. Misgivings Day is to Halloween as Thanksgiving is to Christmas. It lands on the twenty-second of this month this year (9/22/2013), which happens to be the Autumn Equinox. Since I'm pregnant, I'm keeping this simpler than usual (gestational diabetes with Evelyn was enough last time!). I plan on consuming apple cider that's non-alcoholic (hot or cold works), homemade pumpkin ice cream, and homemade apple chips while marathoning several horror movies. Some crafting may also be involved. As Misgivings Day falls on the Equinox, I'm also going to do a moon specific ritual, fire off some sigils, and read tarot cards.

Do you have any plans for Misgivings Day? If so, I want to hear from you in the comment box!

Take care and stay awesome! ^w^
